County council considers how to treat gun violence as public health threat

Last week our Executive Director Ayanle Ismail, was invited to a gun violence prevention summit hosted by the King County Board of Health and council member Joe McDermott.BCG promotes a community driven approach that focuses on empowering youth and making sure that they have a chance to share their stories and future aspirations.Majority of gun related fatalities in King County are young people of color, mainly Black. We also value a cultural component that values and utilizes elders in our community!
