Gun Violence

About Image

Since 2017, BCG has been at the forefront of addressing the gun violence public health issue. By working closely with the King County Prosecutors and the City of Seattle, we have made significant strides in supporting East African youth.

Our "Elevating Our At-Promise Youth" program is specifically designed to support Somali young adults and youth aged 18-24 who are entangled in the criminal legal system.

This initiative focuses on helping these individuals by providing guidance through various systems and addressing trauma, which, in turn, aims to eliminate barriers that impede their full participation in life.

Key Strategies:

  • Holistic Frameworks
  • Empowerment Approaches
  • Shared Decision-Making Models
  • Participant-Led Advocacy Models
  • Multi- and Inter-Generational Approaches
  • Systems Navigation
  • Trauma Intervention
